rom the series published in the Le Tour du Monde, nouveau journal des voyages was a French weekly travel journal first published in January 1860. These depictions originated from the series by Dr. Répin, an ex-surgeon in the French imperial navy. This engraving depicts a canoe overturning in rough surf in front of the sand bard at Ouidah.
