Maria da Glória (1822)

Voyage Overview

The Brazilian Brig, Maria da Glória, left Bahia on 21 December 1821 and purchased 395 enslaved people at Porto Novo (no date recorded). The captain, João Vicente da Teixeira, sailed the vessel back toward Brazil as intended in April 1822, when it likely landed at São Salvador da Bahia on 16 May 1822. Only 381 people survived the Middle Passage. For more information, see Map of 1822.
