This Spanish Schooner, Potosi, left Havana on 20 December 1830 and purchased 185 enslaved people at Lagos by 21 July 1831. The captain and owner, Juan Bautista Arrarte, sailed the vessel, owned by Langlois, toward Cuba when Captain John Hayes of the HMS Dryad captured the vessel somewhere off the coast of West Africa. The British and Spanish Court of Mixed Commission, Sierra Leone condemned this vessel and registered 183 Liberated Africans by 22 August 1831. For more information, see Map of 1831.
