The Portuguese vessel, Florida, left Cuba in 1835 and purchased 352 enslaved people at Lagos by 31 March 1836. The undocumented captain sailed the vessel toward Cuba, when it likely landed in Havana in May 1836. Only 335 people survived the Middle Passage. For more information, see Map of 1836.
