Primeira Estrela (1824)

Voyage Overview

The Portuguese Cutter, Primeira Estrela, left Bahia on 15 May 1824 and purchased 119 enslaved people at Ouidah in July 1824. The captain, Cosme José Rodrigues, sailed the vessel, owned by Vicente de Paula Silva, back toward Brazil as intended, when it likely landed at São Salvador da Bahia in 1824. Only 100 people survived the Middle Passage. FFor more information, see Map of 1824.
