This Brazilian vessel, Veloz, left Bahia in 1827 and purchased 352 enslaved people at an unspecified port in the Bight of Benin (no date recorded). The captain, J. West, sailed the vessel back toward Brazil as intended, when it likely landed in São Salvador on 1 May 1827. Only 325 people survived the Middle Passage. For more information, see Map of 1827.
