Águia da América (1828)

Voyage Overview

This Brazilian Schooner, Águia da América, left Bahia on 27 February 1827 and purchased 166 enslaved people at Lagos (no date recorded). The captain, Joaquim Gomes de Melo, sailed the vessel back toward Brazil as intended, when it likely landed in São Salvador in February 1828. Only 149 people survived the Middle Passage.
